This
medium- to-long par 4 challenges the golfer to cut off as much of the lake
as possible, while avoiding the bunkers lining the right side of the
fairway. The green is guarded
by water to the left and a bunker on the front right.

The second hole is named Stains of the Inferno. In Dante’s literary classic, Cato, guardian of the realm of Purgatory, instructs Virgil to have Dante wash the stains of the inferno from his face before he enters purgatory. The bunkers along the side of the second hole bring to mind smudges of dirt on the face of the hole. This aerial photo shows part of the white, green and yellow tee. From the yellow tees, it’s a straight shot to the fairway, but the further you go back in your tee selection, the more water to carry. The green is off in the distance in the upper left corner of the photo. This photo shows more clearly how the lake lines the right side of the hole, and bunkers line the right side.
