Jon Stutz - Head Professional

Head Professional Jon Stutz, PGA
Jon Stutz is in his seventh year at Purgatory Golf Club, the last five years as head professional. Jon is from Indianapolis and is a graduate of DePauw University where he was a four year letterman and two year captain on the golf team. Twice he was all conference and three times he qualified for the NCAA Division III championships.

At Purgatory, Jon leads an expanded spectrum of services, including the popular Ladies Night, junior clinics, business outings, and tee lessons that include group, individual and our golf show segments.

The cordial professional is especially known as one of the area's outstanding instructors adapting lesson plans for all handicap levels and ages. Jon is an accomplished golfer and participates in many Indiana PGA events.

Jon's breadth and depth of golf experience includes both public and private, resort and recreational courses. His resume includes career stops as first assistant at Indian Hill in Winnetka, Illinois, outside of Chicago; assistant pro at Marriott's Mountain Shadows GC; and Interim Director of Golf at Club Terravita, both in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Special duties along the way have included coordinating a nationally recognized caddy program at Indian Hill, coaching a high school boy's golf team, and coaching high school basketball. In the movie Hoosiers, Jon can be found on the Holland High team playing against Hickory High.

Jon is married and he and wife Theresa have two children, Jaxon and Sophie. They live in Noblesville.

First Assistant Golf Professional, Blair Shadday, PGA
Blair is from Madison, Indiana and a graduate of the Univeristy of Indianapolis where he majored in marketing and was a two year letterman and All-Conference performer on the golf team.

In 2008, Blair enters his fifth year at Purgatory with previous career stops as an assistant at Hillcrest CC, Indianpolis as pro shop assistant at Winding Ridge, Indianapolis.

Blair's pro shop specialties include technology, merchandising, outings and event management such as Ladies Night, business outings, and other activities such as the local Chamber of Commerce After Hours event. He oversees our cart service operations as well.

Along with the many duties assigned a first assistant, Blair also blends in an active, successful, Indiana PGA tournament schedule.

Assistant Golf Professional, Brian Pearce
A native of Tipton, Brian is a graduate of Butler University majoring in marketing. While at Butler, he was a letterman on the golf team. After Butler, he completed a degree of Golf Complex Operations from The Golf Academy of the South, in Orlando.

Brian served as an assistant for the prestigious Victoria National Golf Club in Newburgh, Indiana, before coming to Purgatory.

In the Indiana high school golf history, Brian is especially proud of being on the 1994 state champion Tipton. Brian resides in Tipton, Indiana with his wife Sarah.

Pro Shop Assistants
Pro shop assistants include gollegiate golfer Brooke Barriento and Senior Pro Shop Assistants Dick Merchent and Alan Hinds, both serving since the course opened in the fall of 1999.
